New Arrangement – Alive

This week’s New and Never Performed Friday Release is Alive by The Scarlet Opera.

This SATB closer is a powerful way to close out a show. There is a pretty hefty tenor solo throughout, which opens the chart. The soloist is eventually backed up by the choir through the second part of the verse and chorus before the tempo kicks up into the second half. The choir takes over at the second verse, which builds into the second chorus in dramatic fashion. This is followed by a killer dance break where you can feature a guitar player, or just let the horn parts soar. This is followed by the return of the soloist in a pull back chorus moment that builds into the final chorus through a hit section. The final chorus features back and forth between the treble and bass clef singers before building into a dramatic ending. This chart is new and has never been performed – your choir could be the first!

The track features Brian McCallister & Ines Cring on vocals, and Alec McKeska on guitar.

Stay tuned for several more Scarlet Opera charts over the next couple weeks!

New Arrangement – The Dark Side/Takin’ Hold

Well, we’ve come to the last featured arrangement from Summer 2022 I’m sharing. This has still not even been half of the new releases that went in the catalog on March 1st, however, so make sure you visit the New for 2023 page at bmkmusic.com to see the full list. Stay tuned to this page for New and Never Performed Friday Releases throughout the year!

Today’s New for 2023 Featured Arrangement is a medley of The Dark Side by Trevi Moran, and Takin’ Hold by Lee Richardson, Jonathan Murrill, Tom Ford, James Cocozza & Daniel Toeman.

This SATB closer begins with The Dark Side and it’s slower pop groove. The full ensemble sings a verse and chorus from that tune before a dance break reprise that transitions into the faster rock/swing groove of Takin’ Hold. There is a big dance break after the verse and chorus here, followed by a final chorus. A custom bow is included with this chart. This arrangement was originally written for The Spotlighters from Janesville Craig High School in Wisconsin.

The track features Ines Cring & Brian McCallister on vocals and Steve Cochran on guitar.

This arrangement, and more than 150 other new ones, is available now in the catalog at bmkmusic.com!

New Arrangement – Time Passing Through

Today’s New for 2023 Featured Arrangement is Time Passing Through by Kaden MacKay.

This SATB 2nd number is light and quirky and the perfect change of pace after a rockin’ opener. Vocally it’s all about the ensemble vocal with a lot of back and forth between treble and bass clef singers and a lot of extended chords. There is a big dance break where the horns take the lead. There’s a pull back section after the dance break followed by a final chorus and ending. This arrangement was originally written for the Visions from New London High School in Wisconsin.

The track features Tristan Miedema and Ines Cring on vocals.

This arrangement, and more than 150 other new ones is available now in the catalog at bmkmusic.com!

New Arrangement – One/Made For Lovin’ You

Today’s New for 2023 Featured Arrangement is a medley of One by Three Dog Night and I Was Made For Lovin’ You by Kiss.

This SATB arrangement works perfectly as a change of pace after an opener, or as a transition number after a ballad. The chart begins with the soft dramatic opening of One, before transitioning into the harder rock drive of the Kiss tune. There is a lot of back and forth between the bass and treble clef singers in the verses with full ensemble singing in the chorus. A dance break featuring the return of the Three Dog Night melody replaces the second chorus. From there, we pull back the dynamic a bit and build into a final chorus, the first half of which is a cappella before modulating into the second half. This arrangement was originally written for Red Hot from Hurricane High School in West Virginia.

The track features Ines Cring & Brian McCallister on vocals.

This arrangement, and more than 150 other new ones, is now available in the catalog at bmkmusic.com!

New Arrangement – Night of Your Life/It’s My Night

It’s the final week of daily New Arrangement Spotlight videos. We’ve shared a lot of arrangements of the last couple months, but it still wasn’t even half of the new arrangements we added to the catalog on March 1st. Make sure you visit the New for 2023 page on bmkmusic.com to see the full list, and stay tuned for more New Friday Releases throughout the year!

Today’s New for 2023 Featured Arrangement is a mashup of Night of Your Life and It’s My Night, both by WAR*HALL.

This SATB closer begins with the slow burn of Night of Your Life before kicking into the faster drive of It’s My Night. There aren’t a ton of bells and whistles with this one – no solos – just high energy ensemble vocals and killer dance breaks that will be the short punchy closer to end your show with a bang and leave the audience wanting more. This arrangement was originally written for West Side Delegation from Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The track features Ines Cring & Brian McCallister on vocals and Steve Cochran on guitar
